how we work

When a project has been commissioned, a dedicated account manager will be assigned to be accountable for all aspects of the project.

They will be responsible for establishing the brief, budget and timescale, and for deciding whom from our design team is best suited to the particular project. This could be an individual, or a team, depending on the task.

Typically a project will involve design, copywriting, artwork, media booking or print production. However, depending on the task in hand, there could be a wide variety of other elements to be considered.

Danny is solely responsible for the creative positioning and brand strategies for Room 2 Design. Danny oversees all creative projects and staff, and is responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the creative team. Danny leads and directs creative projects from initial concept through to completion and translates marketing objectives into creative strategies. Danny also directs all copywriting and artistic photography both studio and location based.

Mike oversees the artistic development of marketing and promotional materials, including print and new media advertisements; collateral; exhibitions; interior design; web sites; and internal and external corporate publications. Mike works alongside the creative director to develop strategies for advertising and marketing campaigns, executing design concepts through to finished artwork. Mikes expertise also lies in the design, development and execution of macromedia flash interactive presentations.


Personal Interests:

Walking up a mountain, walking down again, the beer afterwards, playing the guitar, swimming, Domaine des Vallettes 1996, putting the kids to bed early and watching a good movie, getting them up early and taking them somewhere cool, most French food (except for the suspicious looking local specialities made from bits of animals that we're just not supposed to eat), most German food (ditto the local specialities, only more so), the zoo at Doue la Fontaine, Filey fish and chips, karting, brown paper packages tied up with string, Julie Andrews, A. A. Milne - just how is it that a bird can fly, but a fly can't bird?

James works on a variety of creative projects, including presentations, brochures, advertisements, catalogues, direct mail, corporate identity and packaging. James is our photoshop genius. Combining his photographic skills using both traditional and digital photographic techniques with an unsurpassed knowledge of digital editing in photoshop, James brings image to life.


Personal Interests:

I have a growing passion for photography and am currently attending a photography evening class. My interest has grown from being apart of many photoshoots for our clients, I now regularly take pictures in my spare time of all sorts of subject matter.

My sporting interests lie in mainly Football, American Football, Motorsport and Golf, however most of these sports are enjoyed in the comfort of a nice chair and are sadly not participation sports.

I'm a regular to the gym as I fight to keep the ever increasing waist line in shape and to the cinema where I relax and put on the calories enjoying a tub of popcorn.

Karen works on a variety of creative projects, including presentations, brochures, advertisements, catalogues, direct mail, corporate identity and packaging. Karen brings dynamic thinking to group brainstorming sessions and has the ability to think far outside of conventional concepts.

Personal Interests:

I love horse riding, which I do nearly every week, am just starting a Stage one BHS course and have occasionally taken my life in my hands to do a bit of clear round jumping (not quite a star show jumper yet! but maybe one day...). Have also started acting darhling with a local amateur drama company (am currently in Shadow of a Gunman by Sean O'Casey!). I've recently re-discovered ballet class, why did I ever give it up?! at the gym which definitely beats running on the treadmill which I occasionally do to torture myself!

I enjoy travelling anywhere but I particularly love Barcelona at the moment and have a special place in my heart for Italy where I used to live, I still love Italian food, espresso coffee, parma ham, its sooo expensive here! pizza and gelati just aren't the same :(

When its hot nothing beats sunbathing with a good book & a G&T, when its cold going to nice country pub for roast dinner with a roaring fire, particularly good after getting soaked riding! but generally enjoying a glass (or 2!) of wine and food (any!) in good company is always fab!

Jody is the lead creative web designer responsible for the design, development and maintenance of all digital marketing projects. Jody p rovides logistical support to the creative team, co-ordinating all mixed media marketing campaigns and integrates creativity with technical expertise. The role of webmaster involves editing and updating content, liaising with contributors and designers, and managing the development of projects. Jody also offers invaluable support and technical expertise to clients direct on a complete range of e-marketing projects.

Personal Interests:

Extreme theme parks and roller coasters, always on the look out to find that ultimate dream ride! Travelling, my all time favourite being California & Las Vegas - so much to do, so little time! Collecting TY Beanie Babies, bidding and buying items at the Ebay auctions, boast a huge collection of DVD's - favourites include Red Dwarf, Blackadder, James Bond and those crazy dudes at Pixar Animation! if you need it, i've probably got it! Also like to cruise the local waterways by narrowboat with my fella - an excellent way to do a pub crawl! Last but not least, my all time favourite, a mouthwatering Chinese buffet! who can resist!! MMMmmm ....

Ronnie is responsible for all financial accounts at Room 2 Design. Ronnie manages the book-keeping, computerized account system and day-to-day administrative tasks at Room 2 Design. Ronnie works closely with the Account Director producing and monitoring campaign budgets and schedule forecasts.

Personal Interests:

I have four grown up children and five grandchildren. Interests are horses, dogs, highland dancing and Scottish Country dancing, Church activities and my home and garden. I have been working for Room 2 for about three years, starting when they were in Sawbridgeworth.

We believe that we have the best of both worlds. Our state of the art design studio, photographic studio and conference facilities are all located in tranquil Hertfordshire. Looking out over the Hallingbury Marina on the River Stort, between Bishop's Stortford and Sawbridgeworth, with picturesque surrounding views and within a peaceful, unobtrusive environment.

Our head office is complimented by easy access to both national and international transport links. With the M11 motorway, main line railway and Stansted Airport close by.

Detailed directions from M11 Junction 8.

Exiting the M11 at Junction 8 follow the road signs towards Bishops Stortford town centre. At the first roundabout take the first exit and follow the road past the Bishops Stortford Golf Club on the left and onto a mini roundabout. At the roundabout go straight over taking the second exit. Follow the road on until you arrive at Hockerill traffic lights. At the traffic lights turn left onto the A1060 and follow the road up to another mini round about. Continue over the roundabout and follow the road for a couple of miles.

After passing a right hand turning for Pig Lane you will rise up the hill and enter Little Hallingbury Village. Continue along the road, round the left hand bend (The George public house will be on your left hand side on this bend). The road dips down and up the other side where you will see a sign warning you of a school ahead. Soon after this sign is the right hand turn to Gaston Green. Again it is clearly marked.

Turn right into the road, which is fairly narrow and rises up into the Green (which again is clearly marked). The green has cottages around its perimeter and you will see the village pond on your left hand side which is surrounded by white railings. Directly opposite the pond is the right hand turn into the private road leading down to Little Hallingbury Mill. Just before the bottom of the road turn right and Room 2 Design head office is straight in front on the right hand side.

visitors by rail

Room 2 Design head office is located half way between Sawbridgeworth Station and Bishops Stortford Station both located on the London Liverpool Street to Cambridge line. Trains run every half hour with the Stansted Airport Express train stopping at Bishops Stortford station direct from London Liverpool Street. On arrival at either train station please telephone the studio and someone will pick you up by car to travel to the head office.

Room 2 Design head office is located just a few minutes from London Stansted International Airport. Both international and national visitors travelling by air can benefit from direct transfer from the airport to the Room 2 Design head office. On arrival at the airport please telephone the studio and someone will pick you up by car to travel to the head office.

Our main design studios in Hertfordshire offer:

Our fully equipped state of the art design studio complete with eight Macintosh workstations and four PC workstations all connected via a central server with full back-up and archive facility. Each workstation is individually linked through to our central web server with full broadband and isdn connection.

Our fully equipped permanent in-house photographic studio, utilising both the latest digital and conventional film methods of photography. The studio is equipped with full black-out blinds and has a collection of various background and surface flats. As well as being equipped with studio lighting Room 2 Design have a comprehensive set of location photographic equipment.

Our fully equipped conference and training suite including interactive digital projector and white board connected directly through to the web server via broadband. The building also benefits from a high speed wireless network and is fully air conditioned. The training suite comfortably seats six trainees with an excellent adjoining recreation area.

Our relaxing recreational area offering comfortable seating and a relaxed atmosphere for both staff and clients alike. The recreation area benefits from widescreen television with full VCR, DVD and PSII games console to ensure you won¹t get bored. In the summer time the head office also benefits from a decking veranda with seating overlooking the marina.

Our head office benefits from extensive site parking for both staff and visiting clients. The London Office has limited parking on-site but has a car park opposite the main entrance.

Our head office is located within 10 minutes of hi-speed rail services to London Liverpool St, the M11 motorway at junctions 7 (Harlow) and 8 (Bishops Stortford) and BAA London Stansted Airport for international clients.

Neighbouring accommodation facilities and close proximity to pubs and restaurants.

Our sales office (the crows nest) has excellent meeting facilities with interactive whiteboard and full wireless internet connectivity. The office also benefits from a relaxed seating area for more informal meetings.

Our London office based less than a mile from London Liverpool Street station offers full meeting room facilities for London and City based clients. The offices also give a perfect base from which to service our London and City client base.
